Course Information

​

• The correct strategies for assisting people to and from wheelchairs will be practised, with a person-centred approach

• All delegates will practise folding wheelchairs for transport purposes

• Delegates will have learnt the risks of poor handling identified, both for themselves and the wheelchair occupant.

• Difficulties with heavy clients and hilly ground will be discussed, as will the risk assessment process

• Methods of dealing with unpredictable occurrences will have been discussed, and practised.

• Relevant legal issues will be discussed

Cancellation Policy

​

Cancellations will be charged as follows:

• More than three weeks’ notice: No charge

• Two to three weeks’ notice: 75% charge

• Less than two weeks’ notice: Full price

​

In all cases, should Herts Handling Training be able to redeploy the trainer, there will be no charge.
