Advanced Back Care Advisor
(five days)
This course is accredited at a Level 4 award by ncfe
Target Audience
Trainers who have previously attended a 5 day key Trainer course in people handling, and have trained in this subject for at least 2 years.
Course Information
- Delegates will be able to analyse and devise safer methods of assisting mobility-impaired people to change position.
- It will give them insight into the drivers of Government initiatives such as re-ablement and single handed care, and increase their understanding of client-centred care and positive risk taking.
- Understand a wider vision of the complex factors influencing decisions in health and social care settings, including balanced decision making.
- Time will have been spent in reviewing their skill in assessment of learners’ abilities and in giving feedback .
- Be able to compare and contrast different pieces of assistive equipment that perform similar tasks, and decide which to select as to function, safety and price.
- This course will allow delegates to teach specific client handling in specialist areas, such as handling the Plus Size Person.
