Single Handed Working
(one day)
Target Audience
Occupational therapists and supervisors responsible for assessing and devising packages of care, or staff working with adults with only one carer, when deemed safe to do so.
Course Information
- Adequate assessment processes are discussed in small group workshops
- The correct strategies for single handed care packages will be discussed and practised, as will the importance of modifying the environment and providing suitable equipment
- There will be an opportunity to complete local paperwork to document assessment and safe systems of work
- Special equipment can be provided that will facilitate single- handed care for delegates to use
- Staff will be shown current acceptable strategies for assisting adults with mobility impairments and time will be devoted to problem solving workshop.
- Relevant professional and legal issues will be discussed
